Why does Houdart seek to hide true evaluations


One possible answer from Linkwire poses a more important question


Possibly because the evaluation number is ordinal, not cardinal --- it ranks continuations relative to each other rather than giving an objective measure of the position --- but the "obfuscated" numbers are closer to what humans have traditionally thought about the merits of those positions.

I'm less interested in why Robert H is doing this than how someone knew which bytes to patch and in what way!? Does someone here have the source-code and is not sharing?

The difference is the following:
The version "op" prints the estimation which Houdini uses in the search.
But it is of internal kind/size in which the estimation of a pawn is equal not 100, but 200. And all other parametres are doubled in comparison with Ivanhoe and other similar cursors. Therefore in the version "p2" the deduced estimation is divided through 2 so that a more natural value of an estimation is turned out.
In original Houdini the deduced estimation is a little strange and not having any relation to the reality.

I am not a programmer to judge whether this is true or not, after all, I was posted the source of this topic and everyone can read all about it...

i have tried these engines , they are as me4u adviced me, very stable totaly without risk to use

houdart knows his code has been reversed enginered not a simple ( for some ) binary hack and shows clearly he copied robolito source code and attemts to hide this

hes done a hanbrake U turn , now says hes never even looke at ANY ippolit codes and houdinis all original codeing

As he initialy said he owed much to ippolit and fruit and that he would disclose source code onece "cleaned up" ,,,
he is very clever but clever than he are dissasembling houdinis code and finding in houdini 1 he certainly did copy ippolit evaluations codeing
