| Well unfortunately this engine instantly crashes on 980X cpu. Probably works on other cpu. Just not mine. I tried even just double clicking on it and crashes instantly. Oh well.......... | |

| Actually i found a way around all the problems. First i finally decided to try it with HT turned off and the engine was able to load up into Arena with no problems. Sadly the engine will not allow you to create the uci link inside Fritz. So what i did is I had to manually create the .uci file and then the engine was finally able to load up inside Fritz12 interface. The engine is stronger I would say minimum of 15 elo or more after 300 games of testing.
These guys really need to open up more threads inside these engines for servers with 8 or more cpu's. Otherwise this is why some of the engines have been crashing instantly on larger systems.

| Here is what it looks like to open up a .uci file that is created by Fritz 12 interface.
[ENGINE] Name=DeepSaros ver.25a Author=Roberto Munter, DeepSaros descent directly from IvanHoe series. Thanks for all the Decembrist for the Greath code! Filename=E:\fritz8install\Engines.UCI\DeepSaros25\ds\win64\DeepSaros25-Icore2-w64.exe Priority=below normal
The part you will have to change is the line that starts with Filename. You are going to have to type in the correct path to where the actual DeepSaros25-Icore2-w64.exe or DeepSaros25-Icore2-w32.exe is stored on your computer. Most likely for most people it should be stored in the engines folder of Fritz. The path should be this.
c:\Program Files\ChessBase\Engines
or
c:\Program Files(x86)\ChessBase\Engines Note: the path containing \Program Files(x86) will be for those using 64bit operating systems.
You can use notepad to manually create your very on .uci file. Of course you will have to rename the file extension to .uci since notepad will save it as a text file .txt. You also will have to save the .uci file in the correct folder once you edit the file or create it from scratch.
The path to save the .uci file is the following
c:\users\(logon name)\AppData\Roaming\ChessBase\Engines.UCI
You will also need to have "Show Hidden files and folders" enabled in order to see the Appdata folder and beyond. NOTE: The above Engines.UCI path only applys to Windows Vista or Windows 7. Windows XP has a completely different path to the engines.uci folder. Sorry I dont have and windows XP machine to test with. But part of the Windows XP path will be something like c:\Documents and Settings\(logon name)\appdata\ChessBase\Engines.UCI I am not positive but i think that is where it will reside for those still using Windows XP.
Hope this helps some. :)

I've hex edited the Icore2 x64 version to make it work under Chessbase. Due to space constraint in the binary the engine appears as Dee in Fritz. When installing the engine add p Saros 2.5 x64 to the name and it will appear with correct name. Similarly the author name appears as RM. Other compiles can also be hex edited in a similar fashion. azzad http://www.mediafire.com/?y8gmp98b50sae8v

Just spoken with "B" re this as the mediafire link Nat & Donna found for us all work straight away but is only 64 bit that said o have to say its more Deep whodunit 1.3 that much of anything else and that its as about as strong vrs its big brother 1.5 , engines paramitees bare no resemblence to anyIvans and it has no enable Bases or Large Pages feature so realy never stood a chance vrs 1.5 may well stand up to weepy rybka 4 .1 but we shant be bothering to try , and for me its to recycle bin as far as im concerned , but thank you and do try yourselves _________________ "No one is never ever truly gone as long as you remember them "
