Thank "Heartless greedy Houdart", for stalling up release date for all
new Convekta products with new Deep Houdini multi-processor engine
versions. Invoice from Convekta said activation process will be offline
versions for new multi-processor Houdini 3 !
It may be possible to bypass activation with offline method coming. As
some here say "Let CG bring the medicine, be patient". Convekta first
deal fell through when "Houdart" wanted to keep current activation
method, but am told by Convekta inside source that Convekta told Houdart
they will not sell multi-processor engine until Houdart agreed to
change activation methods. Am told new multi-processor engine Houdini 3
will use what convekta sources call "unique serial number" different to
each order, but not tracking hardware. Convekta says it will be a
"one-time use serial" and users need to email for replacement serial or
to verify order and account information, in order to recieve new serials
to install on up to 2 additional computers.
Convekta said they do not want to be "bothered" with current Houdart
activation methods. Reportedly, Houdart himself made "keygen" to be used
by convekta only. The keygen will have drop down menu for staff to
select new serials for email or phone orders from vendors and
distributors. This may help CG to make the forum a KG so be patient.
Convekta said Houdart finally agreed to release keygen to convekta staff
and developers after Convekta agreed to pay Houdart additional
royalties on sales, and also due to fact Houdart servers having problems
with activation requests and Houdart stating he can not "out-sell"
Convekta, if Convekta "bundles" Houdini 3 Deep multi-processor engine,
so Houdart took Convekta "deal" on table. Typical Houdart "greed".
Convekta wanted multi-processor Houdini 3 engine for x64 to time with
new fall-winter 2012 product release dates. Convekta says that using
Deep Houdini will ramp up sales more than SP single-processor engines.
Houdart paid "sizeable sum 7 figure $ x,xxx,xxx to agree to deal with
convekta and on condition Houdart release Keygen to Convekta, allowing
convekta option to automate activation process, includes offline
activations. Houdart agreed because he will be paid per sale royalties
for "reactivations". Convekta stated Houdart will make far more in
partnership with Convekta than solo sales.
On a side note, ChessBase inside (developers) sources have stated they
are in negotiations with Houdart for chessbase product release bundled
with multi-processor Houdini 3 engine, but attorneys for Convekta and
Chessbase and Houdart not in full agreement over money yet, as expected
in or by "corporate" negotiations. Talk so far is Houdart already signed
legal papers, contracts with Convekta on condition of "exclusive
distributorship rights", then tried to make deal with chessbase behind
back of Convekta, which has Convekta attorneys threatening lawsuits
against Houdart as well as court order to "cease and desist (halt) sales
and distribution as well as production efforts of any and all versions
of Houdini 3 engine and proposed spring 2013 Houdini 4 engine release
dates.
Seems there is no bounds or limits to GREED or Stupidity of Houdart !
Convekta already has keygen for all versions of Houdini 3 engine (SP,
MP) and is on schedule to release regardless of Houdart attorney.
Convekta stated that they told Houdart make trouble for Convekta and
Convekta will discount UCI engine Houdini 3 SP, MP versions to thus
flood market on one hand, but cost Houdart wallet in long run. Houdart
makes % off each sale, so if Convekta sells for less, Houdart makes
less, to tune of few hundred thousand euros.
This has been "leaked" to forum so members can be ready for new coming
Convekta products soon shipping. Houdart is waiting for first wave of
engine buyers to subside, so he can change to offline activations.
Reportedly Houdart did not like current methods activations but was
worried about hackers and such that he took deal with Convekta, and the
fact that Convekta will make him far more money than he could solo.
Houdart says he will let Convekta be responsible for lost sales if staff
misuse keygen or fail to verify users before handing out additional
serials. Convekta states that serials will or must be "deactivated" by
giving hardware profile data, before allowing new serials. Convekta will
send serials by email links, good for installation on 3 seperate
machines. I wish I had more to tell, but this is all Convekta invoice
has. Invoice source is from Convekta directly to one of european largest
Convekta distributors, on condition "NOT TO BE RELEASED TO PUBLIC" 'FOR
VENDORS ONLY'. Intended for wholesalers, not retailers invoice.

Convekta dev team said they redid activation method to include new
option for serial only activation method, meaning if CORRECT serial is
used, all versions Houdini 3 (SP,MP) will be 100% strength. Convekta
says that "serial" will read hardware profile and cancel after 3
installs. Convekta says that they are focused on sales and current
Houdart activations had to be changed to keep servers efficient and to
keep up with expected sales. Houdart agreed to coming changes, but
demanded only 3 installs per account, before requiring online
activations. Convekta states new serials will allow users to install and
if correct serial "series", any machine will activate engine to full
version from demo and have no limits. This means you can use forever.
Convekta stated MP Deep Houdini 3 engine will be 100+ elo increase above
current SP single Houdini 3 engine. Can someone in forum such as
tamborini or CG or some experts please explain to forums what kind of
playing strength increase that is for analysis ? Convekta Dev team
states that testing Houdini 3 MP vs Houdini 3 SP are over 90% wins for
MP version estimated elo by Convekta Dev team is approx 3500 elo give or
take a few elo, but is only Convekta estimate. If true 3500 elo, what
does that mean for engine playing strength, and are there any engines
that will beat it ?
What will the Deep MP version do for analysis times to get same results
as SP Houdini 3, meaning how much faster to get same analysis or how
much better for same time used in SP testing? The perimeters are all
same with only change being SP vs MP versions. Example testing would be a
1 min. or 20 min. analysis time. One angle is how much it will change
opening preparations if engine is locked on key moves to decide which
choices or lines are better/best. Najdorf is example with topical lines.

The Convekta invoice said NEW MP engine. They said there is both a
current single and multi-processor engine, BUT the new release will be
an improved MP. CG says it is Deep version a new marketing name.
Convekta Dev team says the new release is an elo increase verified by
Houdart and Convekta. How much increase we wait to see. I hear it is
similar to stockfish releases, a little each time. Convekta states it
will be more elo than current MP Pro version. From marketing and legal
point, they can increase elo +1 and call it "new" version. Convekta is
calling it H3 but Houdart wanted it sold as H4. Convekta has a contract
and final say on name H3 vs H4 for ads.
