i think i'm just having the same problem the original poster is having, I am running ivanhoe on an I7 and unfortunately there is no way to shut off hyperthreading on my computer, it's not an option in the bios

when i run ivanhoe my computer reports 8 logic cores and runs one thread through each of 4 logic cores instead of using a full physical core to process each thread and it has 4 logic cores sitting idle===equilibrates to the end result of when i run Ivanhoe all 4 physical cores are running at 50% each 😢

have copied and pasted post on ippolit.wiki so hopefully someone may answere , all bugs shall be fixesd but as morre engines superceed others more problems are identified , but very many minds are working on these compiles now , the progress made allready begs many questions of comercial engines lack of anything much more than cosmetic tirnkerings to fleece loyal customers keep the faith :study:

the funny thing is, even with ivanhoe 73 only using 50% of my processor it was still beating almost all the other computer players in 1/0 and 1/1 yahoo chess

pretty much all of them either use rybka3 in fritz/chessbase gui and ctg books or polyglot/winboard with bin books

i have but for some reason firebird does not like polyglot  , it will not report current game observations to polyglot/winboard output, it's the only engine i've ever used with poly/winboard that didn't show observation/thinking output

and regardless what i set max threads to in polyglot.ini it still runs 16 threads and it refuses to ponder while other player is moving---critical in 1/0 and 1/1 games
